Voices, all around him, buzzing and chirping like annoying little insects. As they got clearer, they sounded more robot and mechanical than they did human. As it became even clearer, he could make out a soft rhythmic beeping, like a heart monitor, beep, pause, beep. As he slowly came to, he realized these were the familiar sounds of a hospital room, something you'd hear besides a patient's bed. Except he was the patient. He was too nauseas to think, and when he tried he felt like he was falling down, Alice in the rabbit hole. But thoughts still came to him, where was he, who was he. Words danced around in his mind, Marine and Nazi standing out above all.
"Are you sure he von't remember anything? You have made mistakes in ze past, Maxis. It vould be vise zat zis vould not follow zat pattern." A voice, very thick with German accent and yet still sounding smooth and even attractive to the ears, came very loudly from above him. However nice sounding that voice was, he did not like it, it felt as if it were laced with evil intents. But wait, what was he supposed to remember? Thoughts were flooding in now, and he now realized that he was the Marine and that man talking was a Nazi, but, otherwise he drew a complete blank. He struggled to sift through the thoughts. He tensed up, an instinct of fear. "Oh look, he's having puppy dreams! How cute." The voice came closer, too close, until he could feel the breath of the man on his ear. He shivered and balled his hands into fists. "Run, run, run, little American. Ze Doctor is chasing you."
"Richtofen, leave him be. He is not for your sick enjoyment. And as for ze remark about my mistakes, I do not need you reminding me!" Another voice, farther away and deeper than the first, answered back in a hushed and angry tone. The soldier subtly moved his wrists, a deeply imbedded instinct to reach for his knife hidden in his inside pocket (hey, that's pretty nifty), but felt restraints on his wrist. Just to check, he moved his ankles and they too were restrained. God damnit. "You're a heartless monster, I detest every moment I spend with you."
"And vhy this time, hmm, Maxis? Vhat possible excuse could you conjur up over there, in your petty little doctor costume. Could it be, perhaps you're favoring the American now? Vouldn't vant anybody to know you're becoming a traitor, now vould ve?"
"You know damn vell I am not a traitor, and I know damn vell why you chose this man. You chose him specifically, because he had a family. You sick, perverted freak. There were dozens better than him but he vas the only one vith a family."
Then he remembered. He remembered all of it. How he got here, what he was sent to do. And most of all, he remembered what they took from him. His little daughter, Emily, only eight years old. His beautiful wife Lilly. He remembered their hair, their eyes, the way his daughter cried when daddy had to leave. The way Lilly tearfully kissed him, and held him tightly against her begging him not to leave. "Please, please don't go. It's not fair, you married me. You're mine." How she ran her fingers through his hair, the touch of her hands, the smell of her skin. "I love you, please stay. She'll miss you. I'll miss you." He shook, violently, anything to get those goddamn restraints off so he can kill the man. That man. The one with the smooth German accent, the one who stared him in the eye and shot him up with weird bullshit. He could feel the restraints loosen. The one who took him away from his family, his everything, and tried to make him forget.
"Zis doesn't look like a puppy dream anymore. Up the dosage, now! And retie those restraints." One arm loosened. Maxis reached for his pistol, Richtofen reached for the door handle, and then the other hand loosened. With a grin on his face, the soldier thrust his arms forward and the restraints flew off to the ground. He opened his eyes and said "I remember everything, and Dempsey's going to kick some ass." With a quick punch to the face, Maxis was down and Dempsey took off the ankle straps as fast as he could to chase after Richtofen, who was screaming at the top of his lungs for help. Dempsey snatched the pistol from Maxis and shot two times at the fleeing Nazi but missed. "Fuck. Don't worry you dirty Nazi bastard, you're gonna get yours."
Two German soldiers entered the hallway and held up guns. They shouted something in German, a warning perhaps. Dempsey laughed at their hesitation and shot them up, leaving them bullet riddled corpses bleeding on the floor. "Hey, this is pretty good for a pistol."
"Do you like it? It has an attachment. It makes za bigger holes, which I for one just simply adore." Dempsey spun around and he was face to face with the Nazi doctor. "Oh hello, your breathe stinks. Eugh, shmells of swein." Dempsey pulled the trigger as quickly as he could but Richtofen slapped it out of his hands and then threw him to the ground. His neck suddenly stung and he felt dizzy. "Everything getting black again, American? Dizzy? Don't close your eyes yet, my good fellow." The man fumbled in one of his pockets and pulled out a crumpled photo. "Recognize them? Jah? Your family. Look at them one last time."

Richtofen x reader
"Every time we try, we get nowhere"
fighting zombies wasn't exactly the most fun thing to you. It was basically following Richtofen around hearing him saying such weird things. Some were sexual or just plane confusing. Even if you didn't want to be near him you had to make sure he didn't do anything to stupid. You really wanted to just take a brake but of course that wasn't possible since every five seconds a zombie's up your ass. you took a deep breath as you ran with Richtofen into the teleporter with the others. You sighed when you finally got a time to relax from the hell. "Is something wrong, Liebling?" Richtofen said with his normal ha

The Beginning of Nazi Zombies
Secret Nazi Research Facility Breslau, Germany
A scientist dressed in an oddly pristine suit entered the dark room. A single light lit the room from above, but it wasn't enough to bring full clarity. Darkness shadowed the figure at the far end of the chamber. The scientist was wearing a full Nazi uniform, despite his position. The only thing that marred his uniform was a tear on the bright swastika armband caused by an unwilling patient.
"You wanted to see me?" The scientist asked casually while walking to the figure.
"Yes, yes. Come here Dr. Richtofen." The figure greeted the scientist happily

It came to me a few days ago when I was doing a little doodle on Richtofen. Pardon me if I screwed up a few phonetic translations of the German-English accent, I wanted to make Richtofen's accent more obvious and Maxis's a bit more hidden, perhaps because Maxis was more inclined to learn the English language and it's pronunciations than Richtofen, regardless of any previous fact. I've only heard Maxis's voice once and I can't remember if he has a less noticeable accent than Richtofen. And I know for a fact Tank doesn't have any family, but I wanted to put my own spin on it.
This doesn't mean I'm stopping my Portal fan fictions either, for those who actually read my work. I'm just taking a break because I'm more into Treyarch's zombie games than valve's Portal franchise.
